Promote artist and show.
Secure partnership that showcases artist's passion for helping youth.
GOALS
  • Establish Mackenzie Thorpe's art as vehicle of hope to youth and public.
  • Raise visibility and increase sales for Hanson Shaker Galleries.
  • Create public awareness and support for youth struggling with self-esteem issues.
STRATEGY
  • Create life-size replicas of Thorpe sculpture modeled after Chicago's "Cows On Parade".
  • Research and secure non-profit partners who work with youth through art programs.
  • Secure financial and in-kind corporate partners.
  • Partner with media to create interest, visibility and public support.
RESULTS

One-on-one painting session with Thorpe and youth of Larkin Street as lesson in expression through art.

Corporate partnerships with Virgin Atlantic Airways, Backroads Active Vacations and The GAP.

Hanson Shaker Galleries donated 10% of opening weekend proceeds to non-profits.

Sell-out shows at Hanson Shaker Galleries in San Francisco and Sausalito.

Media partnership resulted in front page story in the San Francisco Examiner, Sunday edition; KGO-TV news website profile; San Francisco Magazine and MODA magazines.

Public exhibit of sculptures held at Ghirardelli Square and California Federal Bank.
