The Higher Purpose Chair

Kimbrell & Company has had the privilege of working with Van Beek Kids, the developers of a truly unique concept and product, the Peek.A.Boost. high chair.

Jill (Van Beek) and Sung Cho, Mom and Dad Co-Founders of Van Beek Kids, developed the Peek.A.Boost high chair in response to a need they had in their own home when their treasured antique high chair suddenly broke while their younger daughter was still in it. Luckily Sung caught her, and then proceeded to seek out a replacement chair that provided the same look and feel while providing quality construction and safety. Unable to find such a chair, Jill and Sung decided to develop an heirloom-quality wooden high chair that would pass the most stringent of safety tests. The chair they developed is constructed of solid birch wood, has a five-point safety strap and dishwasher safe plastic tray, and converts to a junior chair to grow with the child. The Peek.A.Boost chair meets the highest level of High Chair Certification (ASTM F-404).

Through their travels abroad and encounters with impoverished women and children, Jill and Sung wanted their chair to not only support the children that sit in them, but children all around the world. In search of the right charities and organizations to partner with, they created Partners for Change, a coalition of charitable organizations that combat poverty and violence amongst women and children throughout the world. Every sale of the Peek.A.Boost high chair will result in a $50 donation to the customer’s choice of one of the charities within the coalition. Van Beek Kids’ ultimate goal is to donate 50% of profit to Partners for Change once the company becomes profitable.

"The Peek.A.Boost reflects our love for family, quality, design, and practicality," says Sung. "But more than that, it also reflects our deep-seated desire to help the needy. Van Beek Kids is excited to partner with impressive organizations that do amazing work to provide hope to women and children in need around the globe."
